Through playing the games, I noticed the Elites had a cultural system similar to feudal Japan, so I wanted to create a Musha-e inspired image Master Chief. Myth and fear combine to create the image of the Demon, with fire in his eyes, sword in hand and a skull underfoot.

297x210mm. 6 layer stencil and woodblock print on Ho-sho Paper. Edition of 20, signed by the artists. "Empathy" is a limited edition woodblock print done in Ukiyo-e style. The print combines traditional and contemporary techniques with coloured layers done with aerosol and stencil and the line work carved from a pine wood block. All layers are hand cut/carved and then printed on to Ho-Sho paper."Empathy" reflects Creature Creature's focus on dualism and opposing forces of this world. The two wolves run parallel to each other in both harmony and discord. The oversized daggers are inspired by old wood block prints of Japanese folk tales. They possess a sense of drama and surrealism to excel the narrative. There are Chinese characters on the side that read life, death, sun, moon, love, hate.
